Good for price. But a few issues

Great monitor. Although as a directors monitor it’s not set up as much. UK is not so bad as it does support 25p input but it does not like being in NTSC frame rates for film. Tech team were supportive and fast to correspond when I thought my monitor was broken but indeed it turned out I was working with US clients and shooting NTSC not PAL. You can use it NTSC with interlaced input but it does create a subtle strobing effect constantly over the image. Usable in a tight situation you needed bigger than a 7inch display. Not high enough res to note focus accuracy on takes as a directors screen but the battery, light and mov ability is brilliant. I used an iPad clamp and it fits great to hold in position at a desk or c stand when filming. Battery lasts a good long time as well and I benefited from using a d-tap to usb-c for charging from V mounts. Finally, I can bag it all up in one case and not carry a peli case with batteries and cables. I recommend using a mini HDMI right angle connector though and attaching your main source to the dongle to save wear and tear on the device. Tested with limited to sometimes no functionality on mac, iPhone and iPad. You’d be better off with sidecar for Apple. Did work with MacBook as a second screen though. Just choose your matching hertz and frame rates. Overall great. But with caveats of frame rates.

Excellent for the price

For the price this is a great external monitor. I have been using it with a RaspberryPi 400 for when I have an irregular setup, converters all come with the monitor which is fantastic. Premium feel to it and works well for a budget monitor.

Well built monitor

Monitor works great with dex mode on Samsung S line of phones and tablets. I does what it says on the tin. Reasonable battery life even when charging your phone. 2 things to consider if you want to use this on you lap as a large tablet, it is quite heavy after a little while of use. And the touch is not as sensitive as the phone that is doing the computing.

Awesome Monitor, awesome service and team!!!

I bought this item and the only competitor I could see that offers the same kind of functionality, the Asus MB16AMT. Short summary, there is no competition in my opinion. The Asus is is a well polished unit, power on by connected unit, anti glare but with a crisp screen and can be charged by PD and QC 3.0. So you can power your laptop and then send power and image through a single USB C to your screen which reduces the drain of the monitor battery. The Xtend Touch handles all this a little differently. The power goes from your brick, to the monitor to a dedicated USB C then you can send power feed to your device and receive image through a second USB C port. This is beneficial in a number of ways but the main is if you want to keep your phone charging/not depleting you couldn't do this with the Asus. The Xtend touch also sports an OTG port so that you can connect some peripherals. Here's the rub. With this device, the extravaganza is the brightness and the colour gamut. The representation of colour is far superior. The Asus looked dull and couldn't seem to represent colours, purple came out blue in my test. Also the antiglare came out superior in my tests. The unit also supports HDR and Ultra HDR! There are a couple of points to note: in very bright conditions (full sun), you can see the grid lines on the touch interface on the screen. I think though, given the superior anti glare, this is a small sacrifice as other screens you wouldn't be able to use. On to the service: Exceptional by any standard. Leslie was a delight. I had loads of questions about the product after purchase, and he was prompt in reply, I even got a phone call to have a chat (I wouldn't expect this all the time). So far I'm very happy to support this brand with it's vision. Clearly they are passionate about producing superb products at very reasonable price points. Well done Pepper Jobs!

Good screen but not without niggles.

Only a couple of weeks in with this product used with a Samsung N20U on DeX, so this is not a long-term review. It's OK for the money but the 1080p screen quality is very grainy, perhaps due to the capacitive screen overlay - certainly not laptop quality. 1440p would be a lot better but...that would cost a lot more and eat more battery. Battery life is good but the indicator is too conservative, esp at <10% charge where the screen tends to last for much longer than it suggests. I've not tried Asus or other OEM branded options as they all seem to have problems of their own. This seemed like the least worst option. Would be nice to turn off reverse charge where your phone is already fully charged so the screen battery lasts longer. The corners of the screen also aren't securely connected to the bezel and need addressing. In terms of what's good, the flip cover is superb quality and very useful. Sound quality is better than expected although using a Mountie clip with your phone means one of the speakers will be covered. Battery life is good but it's a sealed Lithium jobby and we all know they struggle after 3-4 years of regular use. A recycling option would be nice. Niggles would be the OSD which is fiddly and annoying. The supplied 1m cable is too short to be a useful power cable and too thick / stiff to connect to your phone nicely (had to replace it with a softer braided cable). Packaging, delivery, returns process and other service has been very good.
